The body uses omega 3 for brain development. Specifically, omega 3 maintains the fluidity of the brain as the brain makes new connections in learning, acquiring skills and forming memories. Furthermore, omega 3 is important in controlling mood, sleep and concentration.

Omega 3 is therefore one of the most important nutrients for children. However, children hate the taste of cod-liver oil (the classically taken form of omega 3) and cannot swallow soft gels (the form in which adults take their omega 3). Meanwhile, a child's omega-3 gummy typically contains only 25 to 40 mg of omega 3, and a child therefore needs to take an absurd one- to two-thirds of a jar of gummies per day to receive a decent dose of omega 3. Such consumption would not only be a large expense but also require the ingestion of huge amounts of sugar and glucose.

Under the guidance of the taste buds of then-8-year-old Caspar, we developed an elderberry and blackcurrant omega-3 supplement that tastes phenomenal yet contains no sugar and delivers 40 doses of 460 mg omega 3 (including 350 mg DHA and 70 mg EPA).

The omega 3 in Caspar's Choice is mostly DHA and EPA, which the body uses, rather than ALA, which is the form of omega 3 that the body hardly uses.

Note that tuna oil goes hard when refrigerated. We have packed Capar's Choice with as much tuna oil as possible, and it is therefore recommended to invert the bottle in a pot of hot (but not boiling) tap water for 10 minutes to allow the product to flow easily.
