Ingredients:
Distilled water, Lactic acid, Decyl glucoside, Organic glycerine, Fractionated coconut oil, French pink clay, Moroccan ghassoul clay, Cetyl alcohol, Xanthan gum, Sclerotium gum, Menthol, Cetearyl olivate, Sorbitan olivate, Gluconolactone, Sodium benzoate, Sodium hydroxide
Explanation of Functional Ingredients:
Cetearyl olivate and sorbitan olivate work together as the key components of Olivem 1000, a plant-based emulsifying system derived from olive components and fatty acids.
Olivem 1000 has a structure that resembles aspects of the skin's natural lipid composition. It is designed to create formulations that feel smooth, nourishing and harmonious with the skin rather than simply sitting heavily on its surface.
Olivem 1000 is certified in skincare by COSMOS, a European standard and certification scheme for natural and organic cosmetics.
Gluconolactone and sodium benzoate are naturally derived preservatives with well-established safety profiles.
Gluconolactone is a naturally occurring substance related to glucose metabolism and is readily biodegradable. As part of a preservation system, it controls microbial growth while also functioning as a humectant.
Sodium benzoate is the sodium salt of benzoic acid, a compound that occurs naturally in some fruits. It is a well-established food and cosmetic preservative, particularly effective against yeasts and moulds under appropriately acidic conditions.
Sodium benzoate should not be confused with benzene. They are different chemical substances with very different properties.
Gluconolactone and sodium benzoate are certified in skincare by COSMOS, a European standard and certification scheme for natural and organic cosmetics.
Sodium hydroxide may sound harsh, but in skincare it is used in small, carefully controlled quantities to adjust the pH of the finished formula.
Maintaining the right pH is important for product stability, ingredient performance, and skin compatibility. Its purpose in our formula is therefore one of precision and balance, not exfoliation or cleansing.
